Social media content ideas for Christmas time

Just a couple of days until Christmas. And you have no idea what to post on your business social media accounts? Don’t worry! We are here to help.

As holidays came knocking at our door, it became essential to prepare our social media for those days. That means you will need a lot of Christmas and holiday photos, videos, and content altogether. But where to start?

1. Funny message notification

Message notification posts have become popular lately on Instagram and Facebook, and they are pure fun! They are designed to inspire engagement, especially comments.

And why not making this message funny?

Of course, you can add whatever you like in the message field. You can even adapt it to your brand. For example, if you have a product launching for Christmas, it can be a notification about that. Just don’t overdo it.

2. Traditional

Something traditional and simple can also be a great engagement booster. We all love holidays and love to talk about them. So, with this kind of photo, you can ask your followers about Christmas traditions in their country, or inside their family, etc.

You can even ask about food – what kind of lunch do they have, what is the specialty and who prepares it… Food is a great motivator for conversation, isn’t it?

3. Question

The question is this post must be something simple that your audience can answer with one word. Even “yes” or “no” questions are a great idea.

A short answer consisted of one word or phrase is proven to be more likely responded by someone. Also, people on social media truly like to give their opinion about everything. So, this kind of question is a win.

4. Nostalgia

Holidays are often a time to pull out nice memories. Ask your audience about their childhood Christmas memories, about decorations they used to put, presents they got, etc.

Family, memories, and food are the three most often nostalgia triggers. So, those are the materials that will most likely get a response.

5. Choice

This is somewhat similar to a question post, but instead of asking, you can give your followers answers to choose from. There are so many topics connected to Christmas to choose from.

You just need to think of something that has two opposites. Again, holiday food has plenty of options and gets people to discuss easily. Christmas ornaments and traditions, too.

6. About you

Asking your followers any kind of questions is nice. But don’t forget they also like to know things about you.

The plan is that you say something about yourself (related to holidays, of course) to encourage comments. They will share their own wisdom about it.

7. Food

Yes, food again. It is an inexhaustible source of holiday posts. Everyone loves food and drink for Christmas, so this is the reason why it is such a good subject.

Food love is a great engagement boost. Choose a photo that will easily start a conversation, accompanied by the right question. It can be something like defining their favorite holiday dessert or something unusual they prepare.

8. Quote

It can not go by without a quote. A Christmas one. It seems that we are surrounded by them, on every profile we click on. But it wouldn’t be that way if it didn’t work.

Post a holiday quote and ask your audience to share one they like in the comments section. You can even post a part of the song or a line from the movie.

Don’t create just one photo, make a set. Hope these ideas will help you to put it together. We use Canva to create images for our posts, but you can use whatever tool you feel comfortable with.

Have a nice holidays!
